JOHN MARTINDALE
"...I interviewed at Brown because of the incredible breadth of opportunities available to those who train here. I saw a program with an amazing track record, a rockstar faculty list, and endless possibilities after residency. On interview day, I met enthusiastic faculty and staff. I felt supported as soon as I walked in. At the interview dinner, I was met by a group of residents and significant others who interacted like a large family rather than coworkers.Providence itself is saturated with diversity. There is something new to explore everywhere you look. Despite being 1,500 miles from where I grew up, it felt like a place I could settle in and call home (I even found a live bluegrass band at a local bar on the suggestion of a resident’s wife).I chose Brown because it felt like a place that I could really push myself while still enjoying the years I will spend training. I want to become a great emergency medicine physician and help elevate those around me. It was obvious that Brown is the place that will help me accomplish my goals".
